Account deletion
How deletion is handled during the public preview.
Deletion requests are operator-managed during the public preview. Start on the Support page so the request can be verified against the signed-in account.
Operator-managed process
- Sign in with the ChatGPT identity associated with the workspace.
- Submit the Account deletion category on the Support page while signed in.
- Review documents, exports, share links, API keys, audit metadata, and Assistant session metadata affected by the request.
- Revoke access before removing eligible D1 records and related private R2 objects.
- Verify deletion and retain only metadata required for security, legal, or abuse response.
Preview limitation
Scheduled retention reconciliation, backup deletion, legal-hold handling, and a guaranteed deletion deadline are not yet automated. The operator must confirm the applicable scope and outcome; deleting one document does not automatically delete an entire workspace account.
